Free planner

Before you book the venue, decide what the day is for.

Most offsites are planned venue first: a resort, a date, a list of activities and a hope that something changes by Monday. This planner works the other way round. Three questions about your group and twelve about how the team works today, and it writes the brief you would want a facilitator to start from: the one thing the day should fix, the format that fixes it, activities worth shortlisting, the questions to ask in every debrief, and the measure that tells you a month later whether it worked.

      About this assessment

      What is the offsite brief?

A free planner for anyone organising a team offsite. Three questions about your group and twelve about how the team works today produce a one-page brief: the one thing the day should fix, the format, activities to shortlist, debrief questions, notes for your group, and a measure to check a month later.

How does it decide what our offsite should focus on?

It scores four things an offsite can change: trust inside the team, belonging for newer people, alignment across teams, and how leaders decide together. The weakest becomes the focus of the day and the second weakest is built in alongside it. Your answers about the group, its size and your last offsite add notes specific to you.

Do we have to run the offsite with Tour De Force?

No. The brief is yours to use with any facilitator, or to run yourself. If you would like help, book a call and a trainer will start from your brief rather than from a catalogue of activities.

Why plan the outcome before the venue?

Because the format and the activities follow from what the day is for. Offsites planned venue first tend to produce a good day and no change by Monday. A clear focus, and a measure agreed before the day, are what make it count.

      What happens to my answers?

Scoring happens in your browser and your individual answers never leave your device. When you ask for the brief, we receive your contact details, the summary scores and your three answers about the group, so a trainer can follow up with something useful.
