Buyer's guide · 6 min read
Corporate training in India is usually priced per training day for a group — not per head — and the day rate rises with trainer seniority, how customised the program is, group size, location, and follow-up. The real question isn't the day rate; it's the value: a cheap workshop no one applies costs more than a great one they do.
"How much does corporate training cost?" is the first question most L&D buyers ask, and the honest answer is: it depends — but on knowable things. Rather than quote a number that would mislead you, here's what actually drives price in India in 2026, and how to tell whether a quote is good value.
Most quality programs are priced per training day for a group, because the cost is the facilitator's time, expertise, and design work — not the number of people in the room. Five factors move that day rate:
For a team program, per-day pricing is usually better value than per-head, because you're buying a facilitator's day regardless of seats. Per-head models make sense for open-enrolment courses and e-learning, where you're buying individual access. If a vendor quotes per head for a bespoke team workshop, ask for the per-day equivalent and compare.
The cheapest training is the one people apply; the most expensive is the one they forget by Friday. To get a return, do three things regardless of budget:
Skip "what's your rate?" and instead share: your goal, team size, preferred format (in person / online), location, and timeline. A good provider will scope a program to that and explain what drives the cost. At Tour De Force we quote against your specific objective — book a discovery call and we'll shape a program and a transparent cost around it. We've run experiential programs for 22,000+ people across 25+ Indian cities since 2010, for organisations including SAP, Bosch, and Raymond.
Questions
It's usually priced per training day for a group, and the day rate varies with the trainer's seniority, how customised the program is, group size, location, and follow-up. Experiential, fully-customised programs cost more than a generic workshop. The most useful step is a quote scoped to your specific goal and team size.
Most experiential, facilitated programs are priced per day for a group, because the cost is the facilitator's time and design, not the number of seats. Per-head pricing is more common for open-enrolment courses and e-learning.
Define the behaviour change you want beforehand, measure it before and after (manager observation, before/after self-ratings, or business metrics), and insist on follow-up so learning becomes habit. ROI comes from a clear goal and measurement — not the lowest day rate.
Customisation, trainer track record, experiential format, and built-in follow-up. A bespoke, measured program with follow-up costs more than an off-the-shelf lecture — and typically returns far more.
